These are pictures from Nathan's palate repair surgery on May 4, 1999.

.Here's a pre-op picture of Nathan's cleft palate.  It's easy to see how WIDE it is.
Waiting patiently in pre-op
The first hug from Mom after surgery.  The thread is a tongue stitch to help him breathe.
First bottle after surgery.  He fooled us, too, because then he did so well, but then he wouldn't let ANYTHING near his mouth for several days.
This surgery thing stinks!
Nathan had an oxygen tent to help him breathe, but he liked looking at it instead!
The next morning after surgery.  Feeling much better, even well enough to get into trouble!
Still at the hospital because Nathan won't eat.
I feel fine, but that drool on my front is there because I won't swallow!
Still won't eat... (day 3 post-op)
FINALLY going home (day 4 post-op, was SUPPOSED to be overnight).
